Description
You may have heard of Laika the space dog before. But she was not the only dog the Soviet Union launched into space! From 1951-1966, the Soviet Union attempted 42 suborbital and orbital launches involving 47 dogs that were in 81 passenger slots. From 1966-2001, China did 3 suborbital and orbital launches involving 3 dogs that were in 3 passenger slots. This talk gives highlights about some of these rocket flights and the dog astronauts.
