Description
Astronomers are uncovering more and more of the Universe every day. What they’ve discovered so far has far exceeded our greatest expectations—planets are everywhere! This is the story of how human curiosity has led us to look beyond our own world, sparking a journey to explore and discover distant planets. Created by The Swiss Museum of Transport Planetarium, directed and produced by Marc Horat, in collaboration with the National Centre of Competence in Research PlanetS and ESO, this show is perfect for families.
For centuries, humanity believed that Earth was the center of the Universe. However, through our curiosity, imagination, and drive to explore, we’ve learned that Earth-like planets are not unique in the cosmos. Our Sun is just one of billions of stars in the Milky Way galaxy. With the most powerful telescopes available, we are now able to explore the far reaches of space. The discoveries so far have gone beyond the wildest dreams of both scientists and science fiction writers. Most stars are surrounded by planets, making them more common than we ever imagined.
There’s an incredible variety of worlds out there, waiting to be discovered.
Admission: $8/adult, $6/child. Events in the planetarium are not recommended for children under age 4.
