Description

Curious about butterflies and their fascinating lives? Join naturalist Simone Lord for a guided butterfly walk in beautiful Water Canyon! This outing is a great opportunity to slow down, observe, and learn about our local butterfly species and their habitats.

We’ll meet at the Los Alamos Nature Center at 8:45 AM and carvan to the Water Canyon trailhead. Please be on time. Weather permitting, this outing will include both on- and off-trail exploration. It’s a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the wonders of local pollinators and their habitats.

What to Bring:

  • Water, lunch, and snacks
  • Sturdy walking shoes and rain gear (it’s monsoon season!)
  • Binoculars and cameras (recommended!)
  • Insect net (optional)

Trail Info:
The hike will be easy overall, but includes some uneven and loose terrain. Be prepared for light off-trail walking in a natural setting.
