Description

Join PEEC and the Los Alamos Mountaineers for a beautiful fall morning bird hike up Pajarito Mountain. The outing leader is hoping to see some high-altitude specialties like Dusky Grouse and Clark's Nutcracker, some migrants such as Townsend's and Wilson's Warblers, as well as some favorites like Western Tanager.  Participants will meet at the Pajarito Ski Basin parking lot at 8 am. Expected return to the trailhead is 11 am.

About the outing: Starting at Pajarito ski basin, the group will hike about 4 miles, with an elevation gain of about 1,000 feet. The morning may be chilly, so bring light layers and a raincoat in case of precipitation. Bring plenty of water, sturdy shoes, and binoculars.
