Description

Los Alamos may be famous for its volcanic rocks, but did you know that fossils can be found just beyond our county’s borders? Join us to explore where ancient life has been preserved in nearby rocks and uncover the stories they tell. From dinosaurs and prehistoric camels to shark teeth, freshwater diatoms, and marine invertebrates like brachiopods, crinoids, and trilobites, this talk will reveal the hidden fossil history of our region and how these remarkable traces of the past were formed. Whether you’re a budding paleontologist or simply curious about what lies underfoot, you’ll leave with a new perspective on the landscapes around us.
