Nature Play Camping Trip

New to Camping with Kids? Join our Nature Play Camping Trip (Overnight Stay Optional)!

PEEC is hosting a beginner-friendly camping trip designed just for families. Learn from other families and build a community for camping. We will go over how to choose a campsite, how to set up a tent, and how to keep the kiddos entertained.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Each attendee must be registered (including children). Invite your friends! Please ensure that they've also registered as the campground has limited spaces available.

Gear Support:
Don’t have all the gear? No problem! PEEC has a limited number of tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads to loan.

Meet Friday at 5 PM | Check-out Saturday by 10 AM

What to Expect:
We'll gather at the campground after 5 PM on Friday afternoon to talk about camping tips and etiquette. Then we’ll set up tents, play campsite games, cook dinner (s'mores are the only food provided by PEEC), and settle in for the night. Please bring a picnic-style dinner and breakfast if you are new to camp cooking. If you're a camp chef, bring your set-up so we can learn from you! :) On Saturday morning, we'll make breakfast and take a short optional hike. Gear borrowed from PEEC will be returned afterward at the nature center, 2600 Canyon Rd. 

We want to set you up for camping success. No stress! If you need to leave at any time, feel free to do so. Ponderosa Campground is only about 15 minutes drive from Los Alamos townsite.

Registrants will receive a full packing list the week before the trip.
