Description
Is your young explorer over the moon about space? Launch their summer into orbit with PEEC's brand-new cosmic adventure! For kids entering grades 4-6, this camp is a stellar blend of hands-on projects, planetarium excitement, and outdoor escapades. Dive into the "How to Train Like An Astronaut" program by NASA, design space capsules that could survive "re-entry", master telescope basics, launch air-propelled rockets, and even chat with real space scientists! Get ready for a cosmic journey that's not only out-of-this-world but also filled with outdoor fun and planetarium magic!
Celebrate the end of Space Camp with PEEC educators and astronomers at an OPTIONAL Stargazing soiree on Friday, June 28, from 8 PM to 10 PM. Location coming soon.
Space Camp is guided by seasoned educators with First Aid certification, ensuring a safe environment for every camper. Our experienced team designs camps that holistically address each participant's physical, mental, and emotional well-being, fostering a transformative and enriching summer experience.
This camp meets daily, Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Campers must be dropped off at Los Alamos Nature Center between 8:45 and 9:00 AM and picked up between 4:00 and 4:15 PM each day. Participants must be entering grades 4, 5, or 6 in fall 2024.
