Happy Ramblers

Welcome to Happy Ramblers, PEEC's newest walking group! This weekly program will meet on Thursday mornings at Upper Level of the Betty Ehart Senior Center and carpool to a local trailhead for a relaxed walk focused on observations. The goal is for participants to become aware of the nature they experience and give it their full attention during the walk. The leaders want everyone to gain an appreciation of the natural world and to foster a connection with it. Participants will be an integral part of Happy Ramblers – the things they notice will set the nature of the ramble.

The walk will aim to travel no more than 2 miles round trip (and usually less), take any elevational changes slowly, and spend more time in one place. The emphasis will be on experience rather than exercise, and the group will return to the nature center by noon. Participants should bring water and a snack and wear good hiking shoes or boots and layered clothing appropriate for the weather.

This is a walk-up program; no registration is required. In the case of inclement weather, the walk may be canceled. This program is not recommeded for children nor pets.
