Description

Join experienced outdoorsman Mario Schillaci to explore some of our more interesting local trails.  Hike along Pueblo Canyon Rim Trail to Los Alamos Mesa Trail north of airport to Zipline Trail down into Pueblo Canyon; hike west past marvelous tent rocks to Ranch School Trail, exit back up to starting point.  Bring snack, water, rain gear, sun hat; hiking pole may be useful for descending Zipline Trail.  Meet at the Aquatic Center parking lot at 9 a.m.

Mario Schillaci is a long-time (1967) resident of Los Alamos, with hiking and climbing experience in the local mountains and canyons, as well as elsewhere in the western US, Mexico, Europe, South America and Asia.  He has been a member of the Los Alamos Mountaineers since the late '60's and has led local trips with them in the past.  In winter, Mario enjoys snowshoeing and ski touring, and he has led many back-country ski tours to the huts in Colorado since the early '90's.  He, along with his wife Barbara, enjoys exploring the expanding trail network in Los Alamos County, especially those accessible from his front door.
