I understand that the Peak Challenge involves strenuous outdoor activities only appropriate for intermediate and advanced hikers in good physical condition.

PEEC Hike/Outing Participant Waiver Statement

I am aware that hiking, mountain biking, and traveling in mountainous terrain are hazardous activities, and I am voluntarily participating in these activities and/or instruction with knowledge of the danger involved, and hereby agree to accept any and all risks of injury or death.

I agree that I will not sue, or otherwise make any claim against, the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) or any of its groups, officers, employees, agents, leaders, instructors, contractors, or volunteers for injury, loss or damage resulting from the negligence or other acts, however cased by any officer, employee, agent, leader, instructor, contractor, or volunteer of the Pajarito Environmental Education Center or its groups as a result of my participation in hiking, mountain biking, and traveling in mountainous terrain and other such activities.

I also hereby agree to release and discharge the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) or any of its groups, officers, employees, agents, leaders, instructors, contractors, or volunteers from all actions, claims or demands for myself, my heirs or personal representatives for death, injury, loss or damage resulting from my participation in hiking, mountain biking, and traveling in mountainous terrain and other such activities.  The terms of this Release shall also be binding as to any other persons or members of my family, including any minors, which may accompany me.

I am over the age of eighteen years of age/or my legal guardian has also read and agreed to this Release for me. 

I have carefully read this agreement and fully understand it contents.  I am aware that this is a release of liability and a contract between myself and the Pajarito Environmental Education Center and any of its groups, officers, employees, agents, leaders, instructors, contractors, or volunteers and I sign it of my own free will.

If you choose to leave the PEEC group or to no longer follow the instructions of the PEEC leader, you will no longer be considered a part of the PEEC activity. The hike leader has the right to refuse participation to anyone he or she feels is not fully prepared for the hike.  

PEEC Photo Release Statement

I grant to the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) the right to take photographs of me and my family in connection with the above-identified event.  I authorize PEEC, its assignees and transferees, to copyright, use and publish such photographs, with or without my name, for any lawful purpose, including publicity, illustration, advertising, and Web content.

If I do not want my photo used, I understand it is my responsibility to let the trip leader and anyone else taking photographs know.  I will do my best to stay out of photographs when they are being taken.
